Compilation services are presentation of financial statement information by
management/owners without the accountant’s assurance as to conformity with
generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The accountant is not gathering
evidence and does not corroborate client information. The CPA reads the
financial statements to determine if they are appropriate in form and without
obvious material errors. These types of financial statements are usually for
management purposes.
